I had eye surgery this morning…

I finally had the cataract from my left eye removed (I had the right eye corrected in 2017). I have to wear an eye patch when I sleep and put in drops several times a day for the next few weeks, but otherwise it seems to have gone well.

Hope it's a quick recovery ... 🦋

I have a cataract from an eye injury years ago..they keep an *eye*on it each year. 🙂 I often do see a slight film but they say it's not affecting my eyesight. Did you see a film sometimes?
@Coralmist Yes ! When I had the right one corrected, the cataract in the left eye hadn’t developed enough to be an issue. I’ve always been able to see relatively well in the dark, but when the cataracts became a problem, one clue was seeing that film or shadow. After the first operation, the shadow was gone from the right eye. Now it’s gone from the left, as well.

@bijouxbroussard That's great news. 🙂
Glad it went well. Hope you heal quickly and don’t have to rock the pirate look for too long. 🙂
@OlderSometimesWiser Thank you. After today, only wearing the patch to bed. 😉

I hope you’re not in any pain! Wishing you a speedy recovery
@Jenny1234 Thank you. So far, no discomfort. 😊

It's amazing how that surgery helps people. Probably the most annoying part is the patch, but it's better than scratching your eye accidentally. Glad the surgery went well for you.

I had one eye done earlier this year, i cant believe how clear everything was. Lol
Need to get the other one done, one of these days.
Glad it all went well for you.

I had it done in 2015.

You will be happy, it's amazing how much better your sight will be.
@DallasCowboysFan Yes ! I’ve been able to put my glasses away.

My dad had both eyes done after Covid. He was supposed to do it in 2020 but then Covid happened and all non essential surgery was stopped till 22' He basically was almost legally blind at that point. But they did the surgery and he got really good vision after that.
@Longpatrol That’s why I waited to have my second surgery until now, too. I had the right eye corrected 7 years ago.

@bijouxbroussard Get well soon 👀👀

Hope recovery goes well🤗
I’m going to need this done in due course..dreading it!
@TheSirfurryanimalWales As surgeries go, it’s not that bad; minimal discomfort and it’s outpatient. And you’re in the UK, so there’s probably little if any cost.
@bijouxbroussard won’t cost me anything..
@TheSirfurryanimalWales Yeah, that’s what I figured.

Does it have any feeling?
@MethDozer You mean does it hurt ? No. The only thing that bugged me last time was the IV in my hand, so this time I had them put it in my arm, which I barely felt.
MethDozer · M
@bijouxbroussard Or discomfort, odd sensation.
@MethDozer Not really. My eye is getting used to the new lens and the vision is sharper, but no discomfort.
