Do your knees hurt ?.....esp on stairs ? Walking long distances?

This guy showed up in my feed.
He over explains - buuut....that's my jam (🤪)

He explains why the hurt is exasperated.... and how to fix it with correct muscle use.

This video doesnt cover stairs, (he has one for that), but after watching a few of his videos on knees, you use the same theory for walking and stairs:
- Feet pointed out
- knees pointed out over toes
- squeeze the corresponding butt cheek on the leg stepping forward, (or up).

It reduces strain on knee tendons/joints/cartilage/etc, coz the quads: (thigh muscles) aren't pulling on them .
(This was new knowledge to me - but makes complete sense)

This dude is all about using correct muscle development to heal joint pain. (The replies in his posts only confirm how good he is).

I just tried it out on my back steps - well bugger me!
Dude knows his shit ![media=https://youtu.be/3ttv66it9x4]
That sounds like a lot of work and constant attention though 😅 If I had to do all that, I couldn't remember where to go at the same time.
@OogieBoogie I'll have a closer look tomorrow. I don't think this is material suitable for 2 AM after a busy day 😅
@NerdyPotato 😂... no, its prolly not the prime time to be taking in and be receptive to this sort of information.

No wonder youre touchy....go to bed sweetheart🤗

Thats an order ! 👉
@OogieBoogie I'll do soon, I promise 😅

It makes sense, since joints are supported by muscles and the sinew that connects them to bone.

I deal with neck issues, but found a great video to fine-tone/strengthen the muscles throughout my cervical spine. Better than any massage, pillow or desk setup

@OogieBoogie This guy is good, for real 😌

I'm glad your sister found relief. I believe in chiropractics and that's a sweet story.

One guy helped me out when I injured myself exercising. It was the middle of my back. Long story, but bodywork is a miracle when you need it, no matter the medium that works. I even learned to do some simple chiropractic adjustments and taught my roommate. It's all very simple yet complicated, because you have to be sure of someone's health status before doing even simple adjustments. I can adjust my own neck, though it always went right back to hurting, but after my extractions... I couldn't get my neck to budge. Now I have strength surrounding my neck, so it's much, much more stable. Hardly ever need to adjust it and feel nearly no discomfort now, unless I sleep weird or something like that, but then I can fix it with a round of these movements.

I just do my resistance movements regularly. Probably save me a ton of pain and money in the future

edited for clarity, I have no business getting this detailed at this hour, lol
@SeaGlass its funny that you say that...or rather ....the timing is funny.
I was watching another video of tje guy i posted, and he just said that "weak muscles often ache".
And youve just reenforced that.

Which is all the more reason to stay strong.

And im dead set sure knowing this stuff saves money ....and a lot of misery too.

I saw a podcast once, and a guy asked "what do you think the three most important things in the body to keep in shape are ?"
Its :
- your lungs : we all need air.
- heart : it pumps air and nutrients to your whole body
- and ....this got me - the legs : they enable you to be mobile. Without independent mobility our life shrinks terribly.

I don't know how true this is.....but it makes you think ..... one thing not working right, or in pain .... can ruin so much potential living.

Im cool with growing old....
But i dont wanna do it in misery. That'd really suck.

I completely blew out my right knee in my late 20s. Stairs tend to bother it more these days
@JohnnyNoir im not going to negate you, but this dude does have stuff on how to help avoiding knee surgery...js🤷‍♀

Spmetimes ypu never know what might help in the meantime...
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
@OogieBoogie I'll give it a look. My knee is pretty much bone against bone, plus chronic arthritis.
@JohnnyNoir 🤷‍♀ ...[media=https://youtu.be/sM5E8lrWhdQ]

My elbows hurt after bowing them for too long, same for the knees in a standing position.
@scooogy youre awfully young to be feeling that way.....i wonder if its unbalanced muscle .... like this guy goes on to talk about🤔

His philosopjy is.....over time, we lose that 'all body' balance our muscles have coz we arent moving like we used to .

Sounds good. I'll ask my son what he thinks. He is a PT

@OogieBoogie Oh I agree 100%.
Dr's will have you on meds immediately after a discussion, not even seeing you.
Diet and proper exercise are the cure.

I’m going to try this!
@Jeephikelove my knees have gotten weak again due to me stopping training for a month.
I got back to work the other week, and was fine utill i had to walk up the hill, and then two large sets of steps ....and oooh, my knee caps were feelin' it😖

I went outside this morning after watching this ....well it was another video on knees and stairs he does - and went up and down my steps a few times.....and wow!
It made a huge difference!

Im definitely going to use this untill i get my leg strength back up to par. (And prolly add im some butt training too this time).

Every little bit helps 🤗
Jeephikelove · 51-55, F
@OogieBoogie that’s amazing! Yes every little bit counts for sure, thank you for sharing. 🤗
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout he has videos on hip stuffs too.
Ive not watched them - but if hes as good with hips as he is with knee shit - id check him out .
