It’s true what they say about good health - you take it for granted and think that you’re always going to be okay.

My husband Dan and I were supposed to be on holiday this week but after two days we’ve had to return home, because he has started to have episodes where his body shakes violently and he collapses. This is happening two to three times a day for up to 30 minutes at a time.

We’ve been through one doctors surgery and two hospitals and so far nobody can find the cause.

Dan is a big fit guy who is used to working 12 hour shifts in all weather, but this has floored him. He’s frightened but he’s trying not to show it.

I’m very worried about him. And me being a 5’3 beanpole it’s hard to cope with an unconscious giant when he passes out in a waiting room. People just stepped over us to go about their day.

I am sorry for collective situation.

If he went through a surgery they have a diagnosed cause. I dion't think doctors can operate on a patient without a reason. They can't cut someone open and just "poke around"

You sound like you livein the UK (you said on holiday). In the USA the doctors will not share medical info with a spouse without a release form / might be that way in the UK tooo?

His blood tests, even if they were 6 months ago probalby say alot. It is crazy what the medical community knows about you from a blood test. They may give them to you or Dan if you ask for them. It might be his family doctor that ordered them a way back instead of the hosptial.

That is a lot on both of your pates. Sorry for your situation.

@robertsnj Hi, yes in the U.K. we call the doctors practice a doctors surgery so I might have thrown you there. Dan hasn’t been operated on.

He has some more bloods work on Tuesday so that might show something but he’s had four blood tests so far and an ECG scan and they said they can’t find anything.

In one of the consultations Dan actually started to shake and pass out which I hoped the doctor would observe and follow up, he wasn’t interested. I really got angry at that point. It’s just frustration at people ignoring the suffering of someone you love.

That has to be scary. Have you seen a neurologist yet? Just a thought, but maybe it's Syncope.

That sounds terrifying. I hope you guys are able to get it sorted.

At my last physical I had high cholesterol for the first time. I guess at 45 my body is responding to certain foods differently, and I also need to be more careful and health conscious about what I eat.
Oh no :( Hopefully they work it out soon x
