Thyroid update

**edit** ive been working on writing this for 3 days now lol.

So it just dawned on me that I never fucking updated anyone regarding the status of what is going on with my Thyroid! I am such an idiot sometimes. Also, don't mind me, I have taken a full edible on an empty stomach and it's making me cray cray lol

So ya'll know, or may not know, around this time last year I went to the doctors because I was sick, my doctor noticed that my thyroid was enlarged and she sent me for an ultrasound. We didnt think anything of it and I went for the ultrasound.

After a few days my doctor called and they were concerned about the ultrasound results and they sent me for a biospy. After what seemed like months we got the test results that the cells were benign. There is a certain test for thyroid cancer that just takes forever!

After the months of waiting and all the anxiety and stress we were told that im okay and that they would just monitor my thyroid every year unless they have a reason to be evaluated .

Well about a month ago I noticed that I was really struggling to swallow sometimes. I called my doctor and they got me scheduled to see the doctor. I went last week and explained my symptoms. She sent a referral for an ultrasound that ive scheduled for at 2pm today. ***Edit**
Appointment is actually next Monday not today -_-

The doctor said more than likely I will need to have surgery especially becsuse its starting to effect me swallowing and it could potentially cause issues with breathing. In the event that I have surgery its going to be like a 6 week recovery so I am REALLY hoping they can do it after the holidays.

If they remove my thyroid ill be on medication for the rest of my life. What is one more pill right? My family history is what makes me and my husband very nervous about what's gonna happen.

The good news is, I do have SSD at work for up to 75% of my pay once my PTO & sick time. So hopefully the income wont suffer most but I am really hoping this is something that can wait till after the holidays so its not something that puts added stress on top of everything else.

So sorry its taken me so long to provide an update,I could have sworn I had done an update but I comoletely forgot.

I don’t have the words… I’m sorry, I just don’t.

But you don’t owe us anything about this. This is your business, Aly. I only shared my emergency surgery with a select few people (before we got properly acquainted, unfortunately)

I do hope you will keep us updated on the status of your condition, but all the same, you don’t owe us anything. I love and you still deserve so much better. Please be well, beautiful Aly

I wish you good luck and a speedy recovery. At your age surgery is probably the only option. I know of a couple of people who had that surgery and recovery really wasn't that long. The need for replacement thyroid medication depends upon if they remove the entire gland. Did they say anything about anti-thyroid antibodies and a workup for multiple endocrinopathy?

Is it a Goiter? If they do surgery, will they try to leave you some glandular thyroid tissue so that your HRT will be minimal? Also is it your Thyroid only? Or is it the Parathyroid, or both that is the issue?

The thyroid pill isn't an odious one and it's not an issue if you miss a day. But getting everything taken care of is vital.

[c=BF0080]I’m hoping things can go the best possible. Sounds like a whole lot to be dealing with 😞❤️[/c]

I am really sorry lovely. My Mom had a golf ball sized tumour growing on her thyroid that that growing and was impeding on her airway. She had it removed and they were able to leave half of her thyroid so she doesn’t have to take meds.

Hopefully that’s an option for you but one pill is nothing if that means you will be better.
