Wish Me Luck!

It sounds crazy, but I feel apprehensive going into the store for only the second time in almost 3-years. It’s not the Covid that’s bothering me, it’s just being around a lot of people again.

Just goes to show how 3-years of isolation can make you feel nervous going back into the wider world. I’ve become accustomed to my now self imposed prison. I feel like I don’t belong, like I’m some weird outsider.

Here goes ...

It saddens me to know that youve kept yourself isolated for 3 years. 😔 Maybe this is a first step to conquer your fears and start living again. 🤗🤗🙏🙏😇😇
Best of luck 👍 ✨️ 💓

Thank you. The thought of going out was the worst. Actually being out was okay. I can do it again. Now, I need to go to the hairdressers, but will have to give that more thought, although thought seems to be my enemy. @Montanaman

@Carissimi see....i knew you could do it!! Im so happy for you!! 🤗 ive been stepping out of my comfort zone too....i self isolate too much!!
Carissimi · F
I’m glad you are. It’s not healthy for us to be isolated so much. I just have to get the nerve up to go get my hair done. I haven’t been in 3-years. I tried to cut it myself, and made a terrible mess, so now it’s too long and I need a cut professional cut and style. @SW-User

@Carissimi you can do that too. I finally did about a year ago!! 😀

You’ll be fine, they have you in fear, remember that’s what they want.

"Patches"

The venetian blinds turned and opened up, allowing patches of light to flood in. She allowed it to bathe her face with the warmth as the evening sun settled in, she was pleased with what she felt.
Pleased with her determination, her decision made, she opened up the door to the outside. Babysteps, she thought to herself.
The first time in 6 months that the outside light had been allowed to mingle with the darkness in her home. She bathed in the warmth of sunlight. It warmed her heart, and penetrated her soul.
She stepped through the doorway, to the outside world, and thoughts of the past haunted her, yet she couldn't turn back. It was time to face her fears, it was time to allow more than patches of light to touch her skin.

I can relate to this alot as i suffer from agoraphobia. I wish you all the best going back out into the world.
Carissimi · F
Thank you. I was fine. I’m hoping to do it again soon. @Isthisit
It only feels alien for a little while. 🤗
Carissimi · F
It felt alien before I did it. While I was there, it felt fine. I was one of less than 10 wearing a mask. I felt a bit odd at first thinking I was the only masked one there, but I did see several others, but the majority don’t wear them now. @UnderLockDown

Opt for curbside delivery
Oster1 · M
Maybe just take one step at a time. Only you, know your comfort level. I love how you feel, it's time to progress. 😊🤗🌷
Carissimi · F
I’ve been using delivery and curbside pick up since the pandemic started. The store wasn’t crowded, so it felt fine, and now I want to go out again, so that’s progress. @MarineBob @Oster1

You are a smart lady and you know the self imposed prison is not good for you. You know it and once you isolate it gets harder to change. You can do this though. Baby steps. I want this for you. 👌💙
Carissimi · F
🙏🤗 ❤️ @ravenwind43
Awesome. I know that isn't easy. Happy you did it.
Carissimi · F
Are you okay? @BizSuitStacy
@Carissimi Yes. I was just making a joke about the unpleasantness.
Carissimi · F
That’s good, not the unpleasantness but that you are well. @BizSuitStacy
You’ll do great! You will feel so good for having given it a go.
Carissimi · F
I do. The thought of going into the store was worse than actually doing it. Now, I want to do it again. @nonsensiclesnail
@Carissimi I hope you do it again, just because you know you can now. Not because you need anything from there.
I go through bouts of this, being to scared to go places. I have to force myself to go do the things I need to do Esau’s and I almost always feel good that I did it. Feed that feels good part, your mind needs it.
Carissimi · F
Once we get stuck in isolation, it can be really hard to get out of it again. It becomes our norm, but it’s not healthy. @nonsensiclesnail

I worked through the pandemic and got used to empty desks and spaces so now its hard too for me to adjust to the office being full once again. I think we are all adjusting one way or another.
I know. Sometimes I hate crowd too and want to escape. But do remember to go out in the nature once in a while. 🤗
masterofyou · 70-79, M
You will be fine 🙂
