Anybody ever experience a stabbing pain in the calf area of the leg?

I'm gonna make a doc appointment.
I used to get the feeling every once in a while, only at night, and only in one leg. But lately, it's been every day, a few times a day.

It's a very sharp pain. It can literally give me chills.

I have not had any changes to my daily activities so i have no idea what it can be.
Yes. Mine was like being hit with a whip, or bitten.

My family member gets bad ones at night.
Usually they are leg cramps because you're low in calcium, potassium, magnesium.
Drinking more water and exercise/stretching can help.
sounds like deep vein thrombosis but i'm no doctor. you could just be dehydrated.

Had that happen a few times…like the bone was on fire for a few seconds. No idea what it was though.

It is a good idea to ask your doctor. It could be a simple vitamin deficiency.

@SweetMae I feel I've been eating better lately. LOTS of fruit. Salads and nuts, healthy snacks.

Yes, I get leg cramps at night. I hate them. I take ibuprofen, drink plenty of water, and eat bananas and melon daily to no avail. They suck!

I used to get those because of a deficiency in potassium.

@caPnAhab doubt i have potassium deficiency . I eat plenty of bananas, potatoes and beans

A leg pain that comes and goes intermittent claudication.

There are several potential intermittent claudication causes, most of which are due to affected blood flow. However, the cause may be due to something inside the artery or something outside it.

While the pain is rarely a medical emergency, you should seek immediate medical attention if the pain is severe or you don’t think you’re getting circulation to your leg.
