Medical malpractice?

Underaged Girls can now get ‘gender-affirming hysterectomies’ at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Isn't that nice?
SW-User
Why are you concerned?
This doesn’t impact you..
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@SW-User They do with common sense.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@SW-User Thats like saying that if you arent an auto mechanic, you have no business describing what is or isnt a car.

@DavidT8899 everyone has opinions..

Informed ones are the most difficult to find..
People are free to be ignorant..
If someone isn’t willing to study and learn the very basics about something as critical as human development…then post about one the most critical issues in this field..

Then , they can called out on things..

Your analogy “breaks down” where genetics start.

Boston hospital offers a variety of gender affirming surgeries for eligable patients. They have not stated in any fashion kids can go get surgery on a whim. The only sources carryng this story with this particular air of disdain are conservative sites, which should be some indication of veracity.

It's okay for a ten child to get pregnant and experience the 9-month medical odyssey of birth without parental consent. Why not any other ordeal?
@Graylight You love posting links to stuff to educate everyone. I thought you'd have one showing we can now change a female to a male by removing
their breasts and uterus .
It must be in a scientific journal which has been peer reviewed and vetted for accuracy.
These trans specialist all sound like they are in a cult and they are very creepy.
It's medical malpractice for them to do this to any one younger than 21 in my opinion... actually 21 is still too young.

@FreeSpirit1 Oh, is that why you came here? You were searching me out so as to be handed research on a platter others have done for you to taste and reject? I misunderstood.

If you know the ground rules, as I see you do, be off on your little learning adventure. We'll be fascinated to hear your synopsis of what so many others already know.

I'm beginning to wonder if I live in a real world or a dystopia.
Tminus6453 · M
Yeah thats some serious fucked up shit
Pherick · 41-45, M
So can underage boys. Of course none of that can happen unless a team of specialists agrees it can happen.

So its pretty normal for any childs operation in thay sense.
@Pherick underaged boys can get hysterectomies?
Pherick · 41-45, M
@FreeSpirit1 LOL, no I suppose not. For some reason my brain read that as "gender affirming surgeries"
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
If they treated dissociation They wouldn’t have anything to capitalize on
@DeluxedEdition in my mind gender affirming is not removing body parts, that's gender denying.
Gender affirming should be therapy and psychological help and if someone is an adult and wants to do it then good luck... But not kids.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@FreeSpirit1 well said
So file a lawsuit, loudmouth.

Surgery is one treatment for gender dysphoria.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@LeopoldBloom But realistically,it should be one of last resort, before all other options are exhausted.
Jamesy · 41-45, M
Under age ,no way . Anyways whats the hurry a lot of growing up to do before being mature enough to decide on something potentially irreversible
justanothername · 51-55, M
So girls who want to be boys can get it done medically. I’m guessing that is with parental consent.
TexChik · F
Pedophilia.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@TexChik That’s sex with under aged kids. That’s different.
TexChik · F
@justanothername Its perversion, child abuse , and pedophilia
bowman81 · M
That is just crazy............
Wiseacre · F
@bowman81 ..and immoral!
DCarey · 46-50, M
It's criminal.
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
Its a sad time
Riverman2 · 56-60, M
Definitely malpractice. Adds new light to the term "political hack".
Rhode57 · 56-60, M
No thats plain wrong for christ sake .
CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
You neglect to mention the months of psychological counseling they are required to undergo before they are permitted to even consider surgery.
@Graylight 100 percent of the people who allow doctors to do this to them have no regrets to an irreversible alteration of their body? I watched a documentary with some who regret it and are incredibly pissed off at the doctors who did it to them .
Jamesy · 41-45, M
@Graylight The underage patient can only think she/he knows whats best for him/her or her/him
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Jamesy The entire story has to be vetted. Boston Children's itself didn't confirm the information.

And while we'd like to think sexuality begins at 18 for kids, it simply doesn't. Many gay people know they're gay as early and 5 and 6 years old. It's not a sexual issue - it's one of identity. It's not which Pokémon character is the best, this is the same inner certitude we all have from birth - we know when things are wrong. I would expect rigorous regulation and oversight, but if the science indicates this is sound practice, I'll take that over the people with zero experience but a high "icky" factor.
