I went to the Chemist to fill my Antibiotic Script

The Pharmacist tried to sell me anti Nausea medication citing that sometimes Antibiotics can induce nausea.
What the?
Always trying to get as much money out of everyone as they can.

Consume with small meal, and eat yogurt two hours or more apart. You don't need a product for nausea

Take the antibiotics. I think you can handle the nausea fine, and most people never even experience it. But take the antibiotics. Sepsis takes about a minute to develop and change your life. Even end it.

@Graylight Very mild nausea but manageable.
Gone now.

Antibiotics mess with the gut microbiome.

I've always been told to eat yogurt. It's cheaper than whatever they were trying to sell.

Things are different there than here. Here a pharmacist might get sued for recommending anything unless it's a similar generic.

They don't know your circumstances. For instance allergies.

Now if there's a conflict in medications they must notify both you and the doctor. Yet not recommend.

Here only a doctor can recommend or prescribe. They supposedly know to what you are allergic by their records on you.

@DeWayfarer Not only can they recommend (but not prescribe), they can refuse you prescribed medicine if it doesn't meet their approval in some places.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Graylight refusal, yes. Legalities vary from state to state. It's in my state that I am referring to by "here"!

Not all states have the same laws. Some are totally reliant on federal laws.

That is a little out of their purview , but I’m not sure if the law where you are

Get you hooked on something too (sad)
Graylight · 51-55, F
@anoderod55 Anti-nausea medication isn't addictive. Neither are antibiotics.
