8-16 weeks for an emergency knee surgery and related sepsis. 6 weeks IV antibiotics. Physical therapy and related follow-ups for the next six months.

You'll live. It's no fun but you'll be fine. Get to coat hangar ready, though. As I recall, the itchiness gets downright fierce.

@Adogslife Being in a half leg cast, the calf muscle will atrophy quite a bit.
As did my other leg calf muscle when I had my car accident and broke bones in my left foot.
Physical therapy will come after cast and moon boots are finished with.
Several months minimum

@Gusman Yikes. I broke both wrists two years ago. The left the put a plate in. The right they just splinted so I could function. The recovery was a lot easier because a wrist isn’t load bearing. With occupational therapy, I was hitting a heavy bag again within three months.
