So how many of y’all have gotten the vaccine? If so, what were some of the symptoms after?

I haven’t & don’t plan on getting it any time soon. I’ve heard too many bad things about it.😳
Grvstu · 70-79, F
The point is that anti-vaxxers are led by crackpots not scientists, The vaccine is as safe as it can be. If you’re not gonna be vaccinated against Covid then don’t go to hospital for treatment if you get it
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Grvstu wrong
OldBrit · 61-69, M
@Caramel90 vaccines are never 100% effective. They prime your immune system to be ready to fight when you get infected.

But they are effective if most people get them if a significant amount don't it's like a damn with a hole in it.

It reduces your chance of getting ill at all but really important is that it significantly reduces your chance if getting seriously ill.

In the UK we have about 150 deaths a day currently in a population with about 80% double shot vaccinated. Of those 150 the vast majority are not vaccinated or vaccinated fully.

So the very very small risk of a serious side effect with a very safe vaccine Vs a much higher risk of serious illness if you catch covid. That's the equation
Grvstu · 70-79, F
And I can also tell you that the side-effects of Covid and long Covid are very serious. I know people who have had it for six months and it’s very debilitating@OldBrit
You haven't heard any bad things about NOT getting vaccinated? Like 13 school workers in Miami-Dade County, Florida, died over a three week period and all 13 were unvaccinated?
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
I have gotten it. NO SIDE EFFECTS. But, that's not what's getting publicity.

@DrScissorhands 🤔
Perhaps they can fooled thinking it's a POTENT VIRILITY Shot for the Males & a Sexy PHEROMONE Enhancer for the Females?
That could work @Valerian

More than 600 thousand people have died from the virus the vaccines prevent. A large number, impossible to estimate yet, are suffering long covid which can range from anything like headaches to permanent cardiovascular or neurological damage.

There have been a handful of deaths related to the covid vaccine, but not necessarily proven to have been caused by the covid vaccine. Of those, a new study suggests that those over 80 and with serious comorbidities are the ones most at risk for vaccination problems.

More than half a million deaths. Long-term, possibly permanent complications. Public safety threat. Unknown consequences for male reproductive and female reproductive systems. Unknown consequences for in vitro infections.

Or vaccine that, at best, feels like a flu for a couple days. One is common sense, the other is obtuseness.
4meAndyou · F
I received the Moderna vaccine, two doses, because it has been in existence since the first outbreak of SARS under Obama. Moderna took that existing FDA approved vaccine and "tweaked" it so that the spikes on this new version of the virus are addressed by our body's own RNA immune response.

Supposedly it is the best vaccine for people with allergies. I plan to get the booster shot, also.

The first shot I received, I remember my face got very hot almost immediately, and I felt uncomfortably hot for about 20 minutes. I had a very sore spot on my arm after the second shot.

You can ask everyone for their reactive symptoms, but every single person is different, and their reactions will vary according to their age and general health.

After the second shot, I had one day of flu like symptoms. Body aches, sore throat, etc.

People who tell you that you can't catch the virus after vaccination are not correct , because the virus has mutated since these vaccines were first developed.

You can be vaccinated and STILL catch the Delta variant of the virus. However, it is likely that you will NOT die of it if you are vaccinated and otherwise healthy. You will also, most likely, not die of the Covid19 variant if you catch THAT.

The MU variant is another story. It is possible to die of the MU variant while vaccinated.

Wait for full FDA approval, which should be forthcoming in one month, and that way you will have some degree of assurance.

🤯😱😡 This is really too much to take in.

I hope you will get it. I've had two shots and if they start offering a booster shot here I'll get that too. My arm was a little sore for the rest of the day. Even if you do feel sick for a while afterwards, as some people do, it's worth it for the protection from really serious illness.

(Note, I am talking about the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine. There have been deaths reported from the Astra Zeneca shot, although I know many people who got it with no bad effects.)
Grvstu · 70-79, F
I have had two shots of AZ and apart from a mild flu no effects. Really bad effects from any of the vaccines are extremely rare@SW-User
SW-User
@Grvstu Yes, that is my impression too.
ABCDEF7 · M
No side effect on first dose. Just a mild fever for few hours after second dose. Nothing else.

Have you not heard about any bad thing about Covid? Number of deaths from Covid?

4,622,503 people already died of Covid, and still counting.., it's neither a rumour or nor joke.

I wish you not to remain a number as above.

One more thing, vaccine is not a cure that you can opt after getting infected with virus.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Some of my friends got it

Side effects range from death to a week of intense sickness and headache.

Of those jabbed, most ended up in the er.

If we follow the science, no one would get the jab.

had both vaccines as of March 2021 not had any side effects personally and all medication has side effects have you ever read the list that comes inside the medication packets of potential side effects from medication?? There have been articles where people in their 30s have decided they weren't ready to take the vaccine contracted one of the Covid 19 variants and ended up seriously ill and dying. Currently in most populations, those getting seriously ill from Covid are the ones like yourself who haven't had the vaccine and apparently aren't planning on getting the vaccine
No side effects.
And I think someone should look into if they aid arthritis because since the second one my knees have been much better(as they were when I was put on an anti-viral for shingles.Food for thought).
I hope you get the vaccine soon.

I had the virus in March 2020. I've never been so sick or scared in my life. It was so horrible that I went to the emergency room.

Got my two vaccines a year later and my first shot had no symptoms. My second shot was a sore arm. I plan on getting the booster as soon as possible because you never know if you can die from the stronger variants out there.
Valerian · 100+, M
I'm Fully Vaccinated as of early March 2021!👍🏻

I also have absolutely planned to receive the NVX-CoV2373 Vaccine from NovaVax as soon a it is Available!

✅ The NovaVax COVID-19 vaccine is a PROTEIN-BASED VACCINE and NOT one of the New Type of mRNA Vaccines, which can become unstable unless kept very cold. Those New mRNA vaccines work by introducing a piece of mRNA to modify the DNA in your immune system.
✅ The NovaVax COVID-19 vaccine, codenamed NVX-CoV2373, is a subunit protein-based COVID-19 vaccine candidate developed by NovaVax in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
✅ The vaccine has efficacy rates of 95 and 94 percent against the original coronavirus strain in Phase 3 trials, as compared with 96 percent efficacy for NovaVax in its first trial.
✅ In the 29,960-person trial, in the United States and Mexico, the vaccine demonstrated an overall efficacy of 90.4 percent, on par with the vaccines made by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, and higher than the one-shot vaccine from Johnson & Johnson.
✅ The Novavax vaccine showed an efficacy of 100 percent at preventing moderate or severe disease.
✅ The Novavax vaccine also has a substantially lower rate of side effects than the authorized mRNA vaccines.

I did. With the first vaccine I had no side effects at all. The second one, my arm was a little sore (like after any injection) and I was sleepy. The next day, all was normal. My elderly parents were both vaccinated and experienced no side effects at all.

Double dosed and no bad effects !
being · 36-40, F
I have not, but people around me have and they suffer from the symptoms a few days but then they survive and they all are well now. My dads suffered the most extreme as half of his body was paralysed for a couple of days, that was scary! But he returned back to normal..
Had it twice, the only side affect was a painful arm for about a day.

Oh and it caused me to have a period the week after I had it. Also if I didn't drink water I'd start feeling really sick
I got moderna. Just any achy arm (like someone punched me) and fatigue for a couple of days. But I also have a compromised immune system, so my experience may be different.
Grvstu · 70-79, F
I assure you that getting Covid is far worse from peopke I know who have had it, the side effects are like a mild flu for a day or two
SW-User
Fully vaccinated, minor side effects the day after the 2nd shot. I was completely fine after a day and a half of rest.
REMsleep · 41-45, F
I had no symptoms besides minor muscles pain at the injection site just like most vaccines.
Some women are complaining of heavier periods and I believe that WHO is now investigating this because it seems credible
Some people experience minor flu like symptoms for an afternoon or so.
OldBrit · 61-69, M
A day or two of feeling a bit groggy. Nothing serious at all similar to flu vaccine effects

Both Pfizer shots and other than a sore muscle at the injection site no serious problems. Would definitely have the booster shot if offered. Glad to have played my part in helping to combat this awful disease and protect both myself and those around me.

My health is too wonky to begin with and it isn't recommended. I've just upped my vitamin D intake and continued staying away from the majority of people.

I've used an AI chat bot in the past.
If you used certain words or phrases, you'd trigger up to three paragraphs of script from the AI Chat bot.

Questions like this remind me of that.

I got the vaccine. Had the feeling of a bad cd for about a day and a half afterwards, nothing major.
Of all my friends only one person i know had a bad reaction but not so bad that he didn't get the second jab.

However I have known a of people to get covid and be really really sick
SnowBlack · 18-21, F
Chills with the first injection. A sore arm with the second. Both disappeared fast enough.
