I tried it, easiest for me was to get my wife to use a trimmer to get it very short. Take a hot shower and shave with a razor to get the rest. Do it in stages, don't try to get it all smooth at once or you risk razor burn.

Just shave, use moisturizer, and do it gently and carefully, maybe every other day until your skin is accustomed to it
