Causes and treatment of hair loss?

I know my sister is under immense stress daily, she has awful neuropathy in both legs and feet. It's just heartbreaking. (From diabetes). Her hair has been thinning and she said clumps come out after washing it. She showed me and it's a LOT now that comes out.
She said it's not growing back. I'm sure it's stress plus the effects of unstable diabetes perhaps.

Any treatment ideas?

Losing weight rapidly, being anemic, under active thyroid, and other things can cause it as well. I have had hair loss with anemia and also from using lipsticks that were contaminated with lead. A lead test, an anemia panel, a complete thyroid panel etc would be good. Also if she is taking medications find out if any of those can cause hair loss. Chemo did for me.

Weight loss, and tons of stress can cause the problem to be much worse. Rogaine works , especially in women. I had weight loss and extreme stress from a back injury.... it caused my hair to go in "clumps",, it was misery. I did everything to keep it but in a man, the effects can be worse.
I embrace my baldness now..... and very thin hair.
