Is your hair soft to the touch or coarse and what do you do to your hair to make it that way?

Like what kind of shampoo's and conditioners do you use? Do you use a hair mask? Or do you use a leave in Conditioner? Do you use bond builders? Do you oil your hair? Do you use rogaine or any vitamins? What's your secret?

my hair is fine and soft but lots of it. it's naturally wavy and can get frizzy in high humidity. it makes more uniform locs if i put curl cream in it and let it dry naturally, which i only do occasionally.

i eat lots of B vits, only wash it every 3 to 4 days, use a hypoallergenic shampoo from Sweden that's way too expensive, no conditioner, 1 pump Moroccanoil after gentle towel dry and combing, blow dry, straighten, that's it

@pentacorn Nice, I couldn't live a day without conditioner, so you use Moroccanoil instead? Thanks for sharing, its neat to know other peoples hair routines to keeping their hair soft and healthy!

@saintsong i used to be like that. couldn't get a comb through my hair without conditioner. now my hair is acclimated. it took a while doing it this way before it seemed to be easy to wash and comb thru without having used conditioner.

the Moroccanoil does double duty. conditions and protects my hair from the straightening iron - plus it smells divine. my hair is soft as butter all the time now and i only wash my hair when the roots get oily, which takes about 3 days in summer and 4 in winter. i think it's the amount of time i've been doing it that makes conditioner unnecessary. my cuticle isn't damaged anymore. i don't apply the M-oil on my scalp at all. i go from ends up, stopping short of my scalp. my hairdresser said putting conditioners and oils on the scalp are disruptive to the production of our natural oils.

Typically the best shampoo for making my hair really soft and no frizz is Dove. And if I want to go a step further to make it even silkier and soft I put Fekkai glossing cream in. It is pricey so I don't use it as often as I'd like.

@Coralmist I should give it a try...
My hair is really soft. I use Pantene MIRACLE RESCUE DEEP REPAIR CONDITIONER
I let it air dry after washing so it doesn't get dried out.

@MsSwan I use this too, and my hair isn't stringy it's soft and fluffy!

My hair is naturally coarse.
I just buzz cut mine.
When I had hair, it was soft and fine, which made it hard to comb. In a way, it was a relief when it decided to quit on me.

Edit: Jesus Christ, I've got to start proofreading these.
