do you have to run on a treadmil in order to do an effective workout

[c=BF0080][i]tomorrow i go gym, and i can't be bothered to run on the treadmill for 20 mins this time, my plan this time was to just do a few weight machines, then swim for just an hour. is that enough for an effective workout?[/i][/c]

Moderate weight lifting and speed walking on the treadmill for thirty minutes at an incline of fifteen the highest the treadmill will exceed. I got great results and having my gym partner with me benefited as well. I don't go to the gym alone.
