I Love Going to the Gym

Hmmm. I love the effects (balances with all the food! 馃い) more than the going I think.

But the endorphins are pretty good afterwards. 馃ゴ

I'm a fat older lady who is just working up her nerve to walk into a gym full of smart muscular hip slim young people.

@greenmountaingal When I first went to one I was incredibly nervous! Of course people were going to be judgemental if I didn't know how to do something, or was using equipment on its easiest settings, feather-like weights, etc.

But a) never found anyone anywhere not friendly

b) gyms are only really full of smart muscular people in their 20s in adverts and films. (Many also have times when more older people go, and often might be cheaper then, during weekdays in the daytime)

and c) no one pays you attention anyway unless you ask for help or seriously break gym etiquette (like not wiping something down quickly after using it, not putting weights you've used back etc).

Everyone else is too focussed on doing their own thing (and too exhausted to care about anyone else)

Go for it!! 馃挭

@ChampagneAngel @greenmountaingal Amen Sister

Nothing is more inspiring than seeing someone like @greenmountaingal working hard to stay healthy so they can keep up with their grand kids !!!

Think of it like church ... everyone there is a sinner ... we wouldn't need them if everyone was an angel !!!

@NCCindy Thanks. I am going to go. I've received a lot of criticisms and outrageous putdowns about my body over the years, so it's hard to believe I deserve respect or even basic courtesy.

@greenmountaingal A big hug to you. I'd love to join your for a workout.

A bit of advice. Start slow and if the gym you go to has trainer's available, seek their advice.
