Actually, you reminded me of a book I read called The Happiness Trap.
We should strive for general content
Happiness is fleeting. That dopamine rush feels great, but it's not sustainable.
Unfortunately negative emotions are part of life, we should face them instead if running away from them.

I think, like all of us, you come from your own experiences; and I think that they have been hard, and taught you not to trust happiness, because I bet, for you, it has been often elusive and fleeting when you HAVE found it.
So I wish you an ever better tomorrow, and more light than darkness on your path.
