Actually, you reminded me of a book I read called The Happiness Trap.

We should strive for general content
Happiness is fleeting. That dopamine rush feels great, but it's not sustainable.

Unfortunately negative emotions are part of life, we should face them instead if running away from them.

@basilfawlty89 There is no light without darkness, my friend

Darkness is only the temporary absence of light. Of itself, darkness does not actually exist. Light is therefore the only true energy that exists because light comes from a valid known source, whereas darkness has no source except within the mind of it's perceiver if darkness is observed in the presence of light.

@swirlie yea, but darkness was always there. Light is just the appearance of a glitter. Wonder where THAT came from. Allah (one God) said He is The Light. I research this topic a lot. For myself. And then it gets scary. I have a couple of theories about it though. Very interesting.

@swirlie I never implied hopelessness or despair.

I'm saying you can have a great life, but no matter how great it is, you will still at some point face negative emotions. The point is to deal with them in a healthy manner.

Darkness doesn't exist because it's perception is controlled by the presence of light.

Light on the other hand, always exists and therefore is impossible to be controlled by one's perception of darkness.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@basilfawlty89 Hopelessness or despair is darkness, my friend 🫂 ... is darkness 🌚
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@swirlie I understand nothing.

@basilfawlty89
I never implied hopelessness or despair.

I never said that you implied homelessness or despair. That is your perception of what my post was about, not mine.

Negative emotions in life are your's for the choosing. In other words, negative emotions don't actually exist unless YOU decide something should be perceived as negative.

Whatever emotion you decide to label as 'negative' is not inherently negative just because you say that it is.

Every emotion for every situation in life is therefore 'neutral', even the ones we label as positive. This is because of themselves, emotions have NO inherent meaning of their own until each of us label them as we desire to perceive them.

@swirlie Go awaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Shoooooooooooo. Stop bothering himmmmmmmmm. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
swirlie · 31-35
@nobodyishome
I'm not bothering him, I'm bothering YOU!

The reason I'm bothering YOU is because you don't understand what I'm talking about... AND you have no idea what you're talking about yourself.

So far, you have learned very little about life.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@swirlie yea, but I've learnt a lottt about girls. That's why I don't talk to girls. Now buzz off.

@nobodyishome
When you say "yea, but..", you are telling me that you agree with me.

If you agree with me, then what's your issue?
