My daughter is definitely a teenager

I asked her would she mind polishing the top of the 2 (very small) side tables in the sitting room

Her response: "I can't believe that you are asking me to do that", then stomp, stomp, stomp and she disappeared

When I was small, I used to be asked constantly to crawl UNDER various tables...at my own home and at my grandmother's home to lemon oil the curliques. It never occurred to me, (then), to disobey, because I had been smacked around so often.

Later, when I was older, (and after about a hundred irritated instructions to "GO READ!!!!!" in order to get rid of me), I learned to lie on the sofa, READING. If my mother asked me to clean my room NOW I would tell her I just had to finish reading this chapter...and because she needed to have it done IMMEDIATELY she could never wait...and would go and do it herself.

I was not a messy child. I was highly organized. But I usually delayed in making my bed.

I asked my daughter to take out the garbage and recycles which is her only job (and I did it the last ten times) and she started slamming the cupboards etc.. sigh..

@JimboSaturn I asked my 16-year-old to watch her younger sisters she told me no she was not going to but my 15-year-old will watch her sisters for me and her mom

@SW-User I was mowing 2 acres of a rough rural yard, working in the garden, cleaning, helping with laundry and misc. chores etc before I was a teenager.

@cherokeepatti it's not from me spoiling her, she's a great child, but she has a personality type that she gets quite a bit unapproachable and she's really messy, she's an artist and is full of joy usually.. Hormones are having an effect for sure
