I have some great recipes passed down from my Bubby . A petite, stoic, kind and quiet lady she was ...she was lovely and I miss her .

My next door neighbor grew up in Moscow, and she paints a different picture of Russia from what we see on the news. She doesn't want to go back, but she says it wasn't so bad in most ways. It does have a fascinating history.

There are things about its culture that fascinate me. I’m a fan of the music from Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov…to Vysotsky.

It has great things and I'm sure wonderful people. Like most countries it has awful things and dreadful people. It's current political leadership is dangerous and autocratic: but that's not unique to Russia.

I find many interesting things in its art, music, and history but am not too trilled with its military expansionism and long history of totalitarian governments.

It has an interesting history with WW2 being particularly fascinating to me.

Fun people, but their ideological beliefs are dangerously conservative for anyone who do not share them
