Downvoting

Some members will remember a controversy some time ago about the introduction of the "downvote". Most members who commented were opposed, some very strongly, but the management ignored us, as usual. I have just been downvoted, for the first time. I found it an unpleasant and offensive experience. I suppose it could have been a mistake, but if it wasn't, I challenge the person who did it to have the courage to explain what he or she disliked about my comment.

@Softandsweet2 Entertainment is only one of the things it is. And since I have been a member here since very soon after SW started, and on the whole happily, I find your response inappropriate.

@MartinII maybe you should downvote me. I meant you no insult - but social media can be cutthroat at times. People troll you just cause they can. If it bothers you a lot, maybe this isn’t the right place for you. Just saying.

@Softandsweet2 That's OK, thanks. My point about SW (the only social medium I use) is that there isn't much unpleasantness and it's usually easy to avoid it by blocking people you take against. It's precisely because I feel this is the place for me that I dislike the downvote, which seems to me to go against the culture of the place.As others have suggested, I should probably relax!
