@Notladylike On their profile page, click Block/Report and you’ll get a drop-down menu and mute is one of the choices. You can also click on the little flag in the upper right hand corner of their posts.
For the most part I try not blocking people. I mean if their posts are appearing on my feed 24/7 and they seem hate filled or annoying I'll mute em but if they're trying to annoy me personally then yeah sure I'll just block them these days.
To be fair though I've only had to block about 20 users but I have a 100 or so muted. 乂º◡º乂
@Notladylike I try to hold off because I just don't want to block anyone with a differing opinion than me; I don't want to be in an echo chamber and I want to keep my mind open but sometimes there is no point.
Of course not, most people only annoy me temporarily. I block people who delete my completely neutral comments under their posts or people who repeatedly put laughing reaction on my posts where I consider it inappropriate.
I think I’m innocuous enough to not rile others. Or, perhaps I’m old enough that people assume it’s just the thoughts of an older man who won’t change, so why bother? I really don’t know.
But, I’ve never had reason to block anyone or mute anyone for that matter. If I don’t like what I see, I’ll just scroll on by. I’m very very rarely triggered, here or irl.
Nah. To a certain extent, I like a little noise different from my own. I start muting when someone consistently makes me sad and I block if they’re downright disturbing. No sense in letting this be a negative experience when I have some control over that.
i've only got 6 people blocked. 4 of them are users who messaged me. i chatted with them knowing full well of their intentions. once they got too weird i blocked them. the other 2 blocks are actually the same user who disrespected another user.
