Respectful debate please.

Morning all.
Now I don't consider myself transphobic. Fully support those who choose to transition properly and it isn't just a fad.
However picture this scenario, and I'm interested in your views.

A child in a school (female) with complex personal care. Requires staff to be trained to do a procedure and does require two members of staff present (trained, and witness) for safety purposes.

Member of staff at school originally identified as a woman and was Miss X and is now wishing to be referred to as Mr X. No actual physical transitioning at present.

No male members of staff are allowed to be present for obvious reasons.

Your thoughts?

I personally think if you wish to be addressed as a male you should be respectful and not be present during a procedure with a female child.

imo go back to process and procedure. Procedure trumps feelings in healthcare almost every time. Mr X will no longer be involved with this child as that was the parameter set out in the plan of care criteria. No men allowed.

@twistedrope That's how I see it.
If person wishes to be seen and addressed as a man then the care plan needs to be honoured as originally stated.
