I've noticed over the years through conversations that many times we say we need time off from here. I am curious, if this has happened to you why do you think that is ?
There have been times when members can be very toxic and you get your fill. The 2020 election year was particularly difficult and Sw lost members due to a few. Others leave to concentrate on personal matters. Some come back. Some don't.
I get burnt out because of all the people texting me for sex talk or wanting to show me dick pics. It’s a total turn off for me and I will tell them a couple of times and if they keep on, I just block them. But this is my preferred social media platform, so I doubt if I will be going anywhere.
I never take time off, but of course though I am retired and do not need any time off, LOL.
I got what you meant, and I just come on SW when I have nothing to do. I had surgery on my right leg May 3rd, and I am house bound for a couple more weeks, so I am here more than usual because I am going stir crazy and want to be out working my farm.
@Lilnonames I am thanking you, but I have a walking boot on my right leg and foot and I can't drive or do much. I will have to depend upon you for my Zoom Zooms!
I was gone from here once for about 8 months and my participation here has never fully come back from that. Instead of taking "time off" now I just limit my time here (check in a few times a week.) I just find the overall quality and substance lacking. Working two jobs along with everything else I have to do has also limited my time.
Too much of a bad thing is never a good idea. This place can be fun at times, but there are also only so many filters to avoid the stuff that’s weird or downright derogatory.
Plus for some like me it can get addicting to taking a break for a few is a much needed reset.
I took time off to go to Clubhouse. They changed their format, so I ended up returning. I also think part of it is how it can be triggering sometimes, especially for those with certain mental illnesses.
Once or twice I have only logged in about once a week and not initiated any conversations - rather than being here daily - when interactions have turned stale or true friends have been missing.
People probably leave because they aren’t getting what they need here. Sometimes I unplug from this place because I feel like I’m wasting too much time here.
