I am convinced now that most men on SW don't do a lot of thinking.

You want your daughters to grow up in a world where fear is disguised as safety.

You want your daughters to be afraid.

Because if you truly cared for safety, you would first address those who cross the lines and illegally upload pictures of women to use for sexual gratification like what happened yesterday.

Instead the first and immediate reaction is to shift responsibility. And I am sorry, but I do think this is the way of cowards who can't go about facing men so instead they want to control women.

This applies to people who try to control what women dress as outside too as a way to protect from rape.

Excuses are always made for the lack of self control and decency in guys

I want to talk about this further, bUt iN pRiVaTe

@deadgerbil

I could say literally anything, and someone will still do that because at that very moment, they were being blessed by the lord almighty.
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
Wasn't there another case on SW of a man using women's selfies?
People are fucked up. They saw this and the first thing they thought was "Women should not upload selfies anymore"? So we just outright can't and shouldn't be doing simple things that men have the freedom to. It doesn't sound oppressive at all.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@basilfawlty89 I think his name was nickgremlin or something like that
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@iamonfire696 that's the one, yeah.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@basilfawlty89 he was such a creep
Steve42 · 56-60, M
People pay me to think. SW does not. In fairness your expectations may be a tad high for Friday night on SW. /just saying
SUPERVlXEN · F
@Steve42
Friday night rape is excusable? Just asking!
Steve42 · 56-60, M
@SUPERVlXEN Of course not.
SUPERVlXEN · F
@Steve42
What kind of sexual assaults and abuses are then excusable in your view on a Friday night, or for that matter any other time of the day or week? There seems to be some assaults and abuses that in your mind is to be expected, and I guess we just have to live with them...

I missed this episode of SW drama. But from what you describe, what this guy did was disgusting and violating and I am glad you and hopefully others reported him. AND it is also the case that some men are going to masturbate while looking at photos, including photos posted on SW. I am not telling anyone not to post selfies -- but it would be naive to post selfies thinking that you are going to be comfortable with everything that then happens with them.

@Miram English is not your first language. The term drama can be used about extremely serious matters.
I called it an episode of SW drama because far too many of the posts on this site are about people on this site being unkind to each other. I am glad I missed it.
SUPERVlXEN · F
@SW-User
When they try use the language excuse...

drama noun
dra·ma | \ ˈdrä-mə , ˈdra- \

Definition of drama

1
a literature : a composition (see COMPOSITION sense 5a) in verse or prose intended to portray life or character or to tell a story usually involving conflicts and emotions through action and dialogue and typically designed for theatrical performance

b: a movie or television production with characteristics (such as conflict) of a serious play
broadly : a play, movie, or television production with a serious tone or subject

2
literature : dramatic art, literature, or affairs

3
a: a state, situation, or series of events involving interesting or intense conflict of forces

b: dramatic state, effect, or quality

One could also just confess it was a bad choice in words and admit that downplaying the issue presented to the usual SW drama because far too many of the posts on this site are about people on this site being unkind to each other. The I am glad I missed it is yet again just a simple trick to distance yourself from both the SW drama in which you usually have no issue partaking as long as one of yours is involved, and from the issue raised in this post without really doing it anyway, as you constantly try to downplay the matter behind it.

I have written thousands of academic pages in English. I know what the word "Drama" means. Don't underestimate my capabilities.

This has been rather disappointing considering your age.
Coppercoil · M
What happened yesterday?
Miram · 31-35, F
@Coppercoil

A man took pictures of himselves jerking off to SW selfies of some women. And uploaded them in his album.

And instead of directly addressing him, people think it is appropriate to whine about women taking selfies.
Bklynbadboy12 · 31-35, M
I think yout absolutely right what that guy did was disgusting
DeeBee · M
Most men on SW are like that?Either you move in the wrong circles or i'm completely oblivious.Either way,just reading the responses on this post mostly by females it certainly appears that there is one very perverted and sick individual getting around here.You will never stop that sort of behaviour and the way they sadly view females.Victim blaming is pathetic and whoever brought this to the attention of the powers to be,kudos to you.I can't begin to imagine how that would make females feel knowing someone actually does this kind of thing and thinks its okay or funny,Well it's not funny at all it's sad and disturbing i mean it comes down to what people value in life and a moral compass that's non existent,It's guys like this that give us all a bad name!
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
I miss everything.
Magenta · F
That's just it, they don't care, it's about selfish gratification and objectification. If they truly cared for their daughters safety and respect, they would care the same for all (young) women.
SW-User
Perhaps I missed it but I did not see any men blame shifting in the comments, or did that take place in a different post?
Miram · 31-35, F
@SW-User

There are several who did it and not just this time.

It is different thread about selfie queens and how they should not be upset when their pictures are stolen.

Every time this is brought up the first thing people do is tell women how they shouldn't upload selfies.

I am still waiting for someone to surprise me and talk to the men who steal pictures to again repost them in sexual context.

Don't see anyone doing that.
gdon39 · 46-50, M
I hear you but won’t spend time on this topic unless it is private.
Miram · 31-35, F
@gdon39

If you can't gather your balls and talk things in front of everyone, I have no reason to hear it in private.
Alison · 18-21, F
Men dont think all that much
Thinking is for fags.
Bklynbadboy12 · 31-35, M
Did you report that guy
Bklynbadboy12 · 31-35, M
@Miram They shut his page down already
SUPERVlXEN · F
@Bklynbadboy12
No they didn’t. Cowardly he’s taking a break instead of facing his crap:

This user is taking a break from Similar Worlds.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@Miram ah that would explain why I could t report him. He has me blocked.
SW-User
Unfortunately, You can't stop some men from doing that.

Anonymity over online gives people a lot of courage to be a pervert openly.
JohnOinger · 41-45, M
Dang I missed the drama
Miram · 31-35, F
@JohnOinger

Look up the definition of Drama.
DDonde · 31-35, M
It's certainly frustrating to watch. Hopefully the dude gets banned.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
I'll never understand the guys who post other people's photos. I'm not going to shame a woman for posting what she feels like sharing, because I beleive she has the right to determine what gets shared, when, and to whom. When other people go posting those photos it's like robbing them of that determination, which is wrong.

I missed the incident in question here and based on the descriptions I see I am glad I did.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
The first thing people do it blame the women for posting their pictures.

Are we shocked about this? When a woman gets sexually assaulted the first thing that is asked is “well what was she wearing” and if it’s something revealing the rhetoric is that she was asking for it.

Let’s not place any blame on the men who are taking the pictures and doing this. Let’s only place blame on the “selfie queens”. Makes sense to me 🙄.
Miram · 31-35, F
@iamonfire696 you saw that , right? I never knew the term was gender neutral so now after the thread was edited, unfortunately they didn't follow with editing all the comment and they left that out.

I just want men for a change to step up against other men.

Real men vs perverted men , talking directly to the perverted not to me or to her or to others

Get other men back in line, that's what my grandfather would have done. He wouldn't run his mouth about women and lower his head to men.

This is part of why I feel the world is getting worse not better. People don't represent what they believe in anymore. They say they believe in something but their actions show they believe in nothing.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Miram I did see that and I felt pretty angry about it. When will people stand up for women and go against the men that do these things?

Why blame people who post their picture. I mean I know my picture could be used that way. It’s the internet but it shouldn’t be used that way. There is no decency especially when the first thought is to blame the person that posts the picture.

Does that mean that no one should ever post any picture online because of the creeps? How about we eliminate these POS men instead of blaming it on the victim.
