I am convinced now that most men on SW don't do a lot of thinking.

You want your daughters to grow up in a world where fear is disguised as safety.

You want your daughters to be afraid.

Because if you truly cared for safety, you would first address those who cross the lines and illegally upload pictures of women to use for sexual gratification like what happened yesterday.

Instead the first and immediate reaction is to shift responsibility. And I am sorry, but I do think this is the way of cowards who can't go about facing men so instead they want to control women.

This applies to people who try to control what women dress as outside too as a way to protect from rape.

I missed this episode of SW drama. But from what you describe, what this guy did was disgusting and violating and I am glad you and hopefully others reported him. AND it is also the case that some men are going to masturbate while looking at photos, including photos posted on SW. I am not telling anyone not to post selfies -- but it would be naive to post selfies thinking that you are going to be comfortable with everything that then happens with them.

When you call something so serious drama, you are down playing it.

I responded to someone else who used that word in this thread. That should have been a strong hint.

No one is posting selfies thinking that. You all need to get real and stop with the silly games.

This is rich coming from you, but then again... I guess the woman who was targeted in this incident isn't one of those on your list of those you'll defend no matter what they did themselves. 🤦🏼‍♀️
SW-User
@SUPERVlXEN I don't know anything about who was targeted, but as I said, from the sound of it, what the guy did was disgusting (not to mention illegal).
But I hope Miram is correct that no one is posting selfies in the expectation that they'll only be used in ways that the person posting them feels comfortable with.

Which excuses it somewhat, or makes it less offensive? You certainly are two-faced when speaking in general of someone you don't know and when playing the white knight.

No.

@SUPERVlXEN Misinterpretation, in this case.

She has a point.

You're not being honest. If something has no moral implication, it is neither good nor bad, it needn't be mentioned.

I have yet to hear why you called it an episode of drama?

What men do, or don't won't have anything to do with how women should behave to be safe. It's as disgusting if you wank yourself to a selfie of some random woman here, and think that's okay.

But I hope Miram is correct that no one is posting selfies in the expectation that they'll only be used in ways that the person posting them feels comfortable with.

I'm not sure you're interpreting Miram's words correctly here. But I'll leave that for her to correct in case she feels for it. Meanwhile, it's just another excuse for you guys not knowing how to behave yourselves. Mutual consent goes for any sexual interaction, even if you wank to a pic of someone here. Get grown up!

@SUPERVlXEN

He isn't. He was twisting a prior point..

People should expect others to follow the law. That is a given. So when they don't follow, people are entitled to seeking consequences from them.

Whether a person expected their photo to be used for such purposes or did not expect it , the right thing to do after does not change..the morality of posting an image does not change. It is the same. So why even mention this in connection to sexual harassment?

Expecting people not to expect their RIGHT is not just naive but insane too.

@Miram
That's it, always seeking the excuse not taking responsibility and hide it behind words like that guy should be penalized coz he took it longer, whereas the rest of the bunch of pervs are using the pics in similar ways. Disgusting. Mutual consent is a must in any sexual interaction with another person. Elsewise they can go look up the free porn available online. It's easily found by using google.

I think lot of this has to do with the fact that many of these men do not have a mature healthy approach to sexuality. It is completely devoid of humanity, they objectify and look at these website members on their screens as not people.

It is a disaster and a clear indication of our decline as species.

And yes, they can just find that in a porn website instead of trying to replicate it elsewhere

@Miram English is not your first language. The term drama can be used about extremely serious matters.
I called it an episode of SW drama because far too many of the posts on this site are about people on this site being unkind to each other. I am glad I missed it.

@SW-User
When they try use the language excuse...

drama noun
dra·ma | \ ˈdrä-mə , ˈdra- \

Definition of drama

1
a literature : a composition (see COMPOSITION sense 5a) in verse or prose intended to portray life or character or to tell a story usually involving conflicts and emotions through action and dialogue and typically designed for theatrical performance

b: a movie or television production with characteristics (such as conflict) of a serious play
broadly : a play, movie, or television production with a serious tone or subject

2
literature : dramatic art, literature, or affairs

3
a: a state, situation, or series of events involving interesting or intense conflict of forces

b: dramatic state, effect, or quality

One could also just confess it was a bad choice in words and admit that downplaying the issue presented to the usual SW drama because far too many of the posts on this site are about people on this site being unkind to each other. The I am glad I missed it is yet again just a simple trick to distance yourself from both the SW drama in which you usually have no issue partaking as long as one of yours is involved, and from the issue raised in this post without really doing it anyway, as you constantly try to downplay the matter behind it.

I have written thousands of academic pages in English. I know what the word "Drama" means. Don't underestimate my capabilities.

This has been rather disappointing considering your age.
