Why do people have to be so rude to me instead of helping me to straighten out misunderstandings on SW?

A lot of people don't function on social media the way they do in everyday life. For some reason there's a disconnect between seeing an online profile and understanding behind it is a real person with real emotions and feelings.
I don't know why that is.

@robingoodfellow Some of these trolls aren't real people with real emotions and feelings, they are callous monsters who shouldn't be allowed on earth, they should be sent off into space, dumped on Mars or Saturn or somewhere, and left to freeze to death,

@robingoodfellow A good point. I suppose one factor is the anonymity and impersonal nature of the system, but that can't explain it all.

@ArishMell There is nothing remotely impersonal about me. I'm as far removed from impersonal as is humanly possible.
