Why have so many of the old SW members left?

Eventually it just gets to where people get tired of things and move on.
Plus on here if people "put themselves out there" they become the target of blocking and abuse.
If you fly under the radar, you are mostly ignored. You cannot really win.

There were at least 3 members on here that got very close to another only to be heartbroken when informed of their friend's death. As they tried to get over their loss they discovered the "friend" wasn't dead.

Im sure if you visit their pages, many are still here and active...but SW decides who sees what now, so for whatever reason they dont sharexsll pists withveveryone. Ive had a few conversations this week with friends i thought had left because i havent seen them post for weeks, and in visiting their pages i see they are here and posting....and they thought the same of me.
Its bonkers how they do it. Its ruined the site for me.

Too many new "improvements" which are not wanted.

I think another reason is because some member's constant self-pity gets tiresome. It's like the have the world by the curly hairs yet they are still unhappy.

All the 'improvements' have ruined the place. No natter how much in tweek my feed, i only see posts from a handful of people. Posts are hidden from me....because SW decide what to show me....incannot choose myself or alter that.
Despite have a couple if hundred peeos i ( supposedly) follow and follow me....i dont get to see their posts unless i visit their pfofiles and they dont see mine either.
Its changed the whe dynamic of the site.

The content quality has dropped and people can just be too overtly argumentative.

People come and go, but the site doesn't change. There is a certain sameness to this place.

The connection that existed on EP is lacking. The way we communicated. The stories. Our thoughts. Our opinions. The discussion. The bonds we created. The way we could reach out and help others. The fact that we listened. We mattered. We didn't need to show our genitals or our breasts on EP. Granted some did. We didn't need validation from complete strangers. Many here do now. It is a shame. Questions were answered with thought. With all the "improvements" here now, people are thinking that this site is deteriorating and it isn't worth the effort. The world is changing. The pandemic has caused chaos. We need to decide what matters most to us. Life is busy and priorities change. I value my inner circle. I always have. Time goes on and on...

My assumption is they get tired of it and decide their time is better spent doing other things.

The feed had exactly [b]nothing[/b] wrong with it, yet they made changes to it which have made it far worse 🤦‍♂️ Downvoting and images also seem rather unnecessary and pointless to me, but I'm willing to hear other opinions

Because SW changed too much for some to stay.

To many changes to the site nobody wanted or liked

Then a bunch of halfwits joined from YA

And I'm not on as much so a lot just up and left 🙆‍♀️

This place is in a death spiral like EP used to be. And the admins promise shiny new things and fail to deliver.

I think a lot just come and go.

Maybe the principle of [b]natural selection[/b] is at work. Those who are comparatively more loving, extrovert, or relaxed or naughty or tolerant are staying

I had loads of members on my profile but most have gone now. I check from time to time and there is the cross in the box and another one gone

No idea. I hardly log in nowadays. I guess I'll never leave this place but I'm hardly active on here :)

The ones I've noticed leaving seem to be those who don;t like the bigots and haters.

I think people tire of the same old kinds of things all the time, and they just feel like moving on. I've felt that way a lot.

Could be lots of reasons they got bored with it & Decided to do things in the real world

I am always going through my friends list and removing people that have left.
