What's the main reason you use SW?

Is it to make friends, get advice, rant/spill your guts?
Why this platform over other social media?

To my mind it's the best Q&A anywhere online.
Younger folk post their gripes and troubles and us old'uns smile or grimace and think...yep. been there done that...Here's what you need to do...

Meanwhile us 'middle-agers' are trying to navigate dying careers or mid-life crises along family or relationship lines and it's wonderful the folk you chat to who 'get where you're coming from' and either advise or commiserate.As well as the odd one or two who enjoy being judgemental about whom we'll say nothing.

I have no idea what it's like to be gay or transgendered or female or disabled or 'non-white' or orphaned or.....a billion other things. But I'm constantly amazed when my tentative (hopefully)polite question or inquiry is met by willing enthusiasm to explain to this old boy. And that enlightens me. EVERYDAY !

To be real around people without expecting judgments. I like the anonymity. Other social media sites like facebook basically asks for comments from relatives and coworkers when you post. I don't like that.

I was trying to find out who spread lies about me behind my back. Actually it’s probably true. They’re asking people not to like me and they are or were harassing me. They are turning people against me.

Basically it's because in the evenings anyone i know in real life isn't around to talk to as they have their own families. This seems to be the only place where people are around after 5pm my time.

@lka2802 I used to have Facebook. I had it over a year ago.

I got rid of it for two reasons.

1. I deleted it to avoid my ex.

2. I found that platform to be disgusting. People use it to flaunt their shit and make a huge deal out of nothing. Agreed the same can be done here but this seemed more relatable to me.

"Graceful, beautiful and elegant."

But, in real life... They are more opposite than in the Facebook.

They craving "likes" followers to gain popularity. Facebook supposed to connect with friends but it come followers war.

Everyone wants to be fame.

The value of friendship is meaningless if you can't make hundreds likes and followers.
