How do you handle people here who try to bait you?

You know the ones.
Smart alec comments designed to get a rise out of you.
Pure nastiness.
I use two strategies.
Ignore the comment, no response
Give an unemotional response.
Never playing into their hand

I'm a really sensitive and emotional person, and sometimes I even take offense to things that maybe weren't meant to be offensive.

So, I fall for it often. But I try to ignore it, and then I just think about it for hours and all of the amazing things I could say in response, knowing that every one would just give the person satisfaction... so I don't. XD
