Who is struggling with mental health?

Hi, I used Experience Project and found it helpful, but now I see this platform full of useless posts, nothing about mental health, looks more like a dating site and not safe. Is there someone there still looking for a safe place to share their struggles with depression, anxiety, medications, pain??

I am really sorry you are struggling. However, this site isn't designed to be a mental health support site. It's nice when others are helpful, but you can't expect them to be.

@SW-User I disagree, I think that was the origin of the site... anyways, I'll see how to filter my posts and people to what I came looking for.

I think most human beings are 🥀

@SW-User I think you're right about that.

@SW-User true, most of us do temporarily or for longer periods, some die of it, others fight it everyday.🌻

Completely agree. I went on EP during a stressful time in my life for help, though strangely found it more therapeutic to try to help others. I also connected with people with similar interests to myself such as gardening, veg growing, hiking etc who were genuinely decent people and there was no trolling or people trying to provoke arguments or "trigger" others for their own amusement. SW is certainly not the same place as EP. There are aspects of it that make it better than a lot of social networking sites- more mature contributers and constructive pleasant conversation when compared to places like Facebook etc. but it's still not a patch on EP.

I think this is a completely separate website. Sure, the creators of SW positioned it as a successor to EP, but it's a different code base with different management. I doubt it's possible to make a direct replacement without using the same code base and the same management, but if that was the case EP would still be around, right? It's a chicken-and-egg thing.

What I think some people forget is that social networking sites learn from your behaviour; if you look at diaper and poop posts or follow (and are possibly followed by) people into that, then all you'll see SW as is a diaper and poop website. Same goes for dating or whatever fetish or interest you like or dislike. And if you truthfully join a group like (to make up a random example that probably does exist) "I was spanked as a child", then guess what? You're going to see spanking posts and be messaged by spankos.

In other words, each person's behaviour is what makes SW what it is to them.

been going through it for years, but i dont really open up about it
SW-User
@phasmidae i can handle it, and if i cant, i wont bring anyone else down with me
phasmidae · 31-35, F
@SW-User is not a burden, everyone goes through hardship, but we all have our own ways to deal with it I guess, I hope you are managing well by yourself, and I hope you know how to look for help if it gets really bad ☹️

@SW-User expressing to someone who is professional in therapy is not bringing someone else down.

I don’t personally suffer with my mental health but if I did I’d go elsewhere on the net for support. There’s a lot of undercurrent on here that I don’t particularly want to be part of.
phasmidae · 31-35, F
@TicketyBoo :( I know, we're meant to be on therapy with mental health professionals, supervised medications, going out, trying to eat properly, socialise... and sometimes to me it helped to talk in EP because I cannot do it in real life for some reason my mind paralices my body into not doing what I know is helpful, hopefully we find good users or group, I'll try few days or I'll just leave hehe.

I understand what you say just don’t expect all to have your best interests at heart 😀@phasmidae

I never do, I never did.👍️
SW-User
Yes, and I am a little disillusioned from this site in premise even though I was never on EP.
phasmidae · 31-35, F
@SW-User I guess it depends on the users :( I remember I could easily find people going through the same at any time and get advise, or I could read their stories and try to help with my experiences, maybe we have to find the right groups...
SW-User
@phasmidae Maybe. Why I think SW should take way less control over what is expressed as a story? I know I have had many a story/thought and if I want my expression said, I need to change my expression to a question
if you find one let me know
phasmidae · 31-35, F
@nevergiveup you too please, the safest I've used are AI robot apps haha and didn't feel complex enough. If it helps, I'm using an app called "Daylio" to record my moods, that info always helps to analyse ourselves. Also have a secret blog to write for myself and read me years later to see the progress.

Have you ever read my posts. I think that I have mental health problem. Wanting the things I want
Houdini · 56-60, M
Only if you let them do that as for me I just don’t bother what people say to me. I’ve been through to much shit in the. Past and a lot that I’m not allowed to talk about with anyone @phasmidae
phasmidae · 31-35, F
That's alright, good for you, I worry for the others including me who come for kind support and find weirdness instead, but I think I'll find better posts and users if I look better. :)

Good luck @phasmidae

@Allelse Sorry to read that, I hope your friend has enough support and trusts someone to talk about their struggles.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@phasmidae That's alright I didn't see anything wrong with it.
