There seems to be a lot of 'feminists' in my city currently

The age we live in has left a lot of young people confused and this is exceptionally apparent because the local university is about to start a new academic year and so there are a lot of students about.

More and more I'm seeing young girls with hair cuts like little boys and it's clear that they are trying to downplay their natural femininity.

I'm sure in the majority of cases it's just a phase they're going through and in a few years most of them will have settled down with a respectable husband and will be raising children.

However some are more malleable than others and while some young women might tentatively dip their toe into feminist thinking and then decide to dress like men before releasing how silly feminism is there will be others who find it to be a slippery slope and by the time they realise how bad feminism really is, it will be too late for them and they might have to go to a sperm clinic to have children because any decent man will not be interested in them by this point.

It's not a particularly esteemed university and I hope that could be the reason for all these poor young misguided fools. I'd hate to think what I see going on in my city is representative of what's going on throughout the whole country.
first of all, why does someone haircut means they are a feminist? lmao . Feminism is not about a females haircut, it is about females and males being anything they want to freely, whether that's expressing masculinity or femininity, being stay at home moms or fathers, having a career or chasing academics, whatever. You have a very weird prejudiced view of feminism just by the way you attach a females exterior to their beliefs.
also what makes you think women have to have a man and children before its 'too late' for them? it sounds like you are projecting your own dislike for the choices that were forced on you because of your gender and seeing anyone not having to live by that, especially females, upsets you. It is kinda sad,for you ,really.
Sorry these women don’t fit your old fashioned way of thinking but they may not even want kids or even be into men. Honestly get over yourself they’re not hurting you, you old bat

What's wrong with a woman cutting her hair short? I'm kinda sorta a decent man and I still want a woman who believes in gender equality.
MsBellows · 61-69, F
@BlueVeins it's not just they're hair. Often I see them wearing boots (Doc Martins I think, I'm not sure)
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
I’m not convinced you are an elderly woman with old school “values”

I think you are a neo-conservative middle aged man who needs attention by posting opinions that are going to rub people the wrong way.

How very sad.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@JoeyFoxx Agreed, it's far more likely this person is a second account of some middle aged conservative male on here. I thought the same but there are females who think this way.
Candie · F
theyre probably lesbians (or bisexual or leaning trans or for androgyny) i'd say 80% chance at least. feminism is not about cutting you hair like a boy's. its fighting for the rights of women.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
Women are not here to please you, we were put here on earth to enjoy OUR life, not to change our looks for the s-xual benefit of another.

I also think that femininity and masculinity are inter changeable. A lot of people are both and some people are more one over the other. It's a myth that we all have one personality due to gender, it never was that way. The only reason you see it more is because we're allowed to without being locked away in Magdalene Laundries and thank GOD for that.

@SatanBurger Gender (not to be confused with 'sex') is a continuum with masculinity and femininity at opposite ends. We all lie somewhere along that continuum, I doubt anyone is purely one or the other extreme.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Sharon Yeah but these people think in stereotypes and as a result, it makes them look insecure when they're trying to frame what is stereotypically female and male, it's unrealistic expectations.

On the flip side, it's also really cringe because it reflects what's likely their personal lives as well, you can tell by their past by what they blame in the future. People like this often develop these views as a way to outwardly blame people for their lack of a social life and getting women, it reflects their anger at society and then they develop societal expectations of women.

They don't need to work on themselves when it's all feminism's fault for example.

There's some men who are really ultra misogynistic who can have wives and girlfriends, that's called co-dependency. It doesn't mean the female is weak but it's likely that she had an abuse or traumatized past with either friends, ex lovers or family so they can be trauma bonded. As a result they can have internalized misogyny.

This is my issue with people like this.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
Because they don’t set their hair in curlers and take an hour to get ready to class they are considered males?? It seems you’re very out of touch with society for somebody who works in a university. I hope you’re not a professor telling women they’re shit cause they look like males or teaching anything important. Try gym class. You have balls.
Adam77 · 26-30, M
Beautifully said.
I hope they wake up earlier because what it looks to me is like a competition, both men and women are useful and important just in different ways.
Thank you for this.
MsBellows · 61-69, F
@Adam77 "both men and women are useful and important just in different ways."

Beautifully said yourself.

Alot of girls these days are gtg - gay till graduation. They go through their phase and it keeps guys from swarming them.

Afterwarss, they go find their conventional husbands
MsBellows · 61-69, F
@Slade I do hope you're right.
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
Damn right! Keep them barefoot and pregnant and in their place...the kitchen, just like the good book says!
They’re doing that just to annoy you because everything is about you.
as a man supportive of gender equality I am one of femininities biggest fans and I don't like how this confusion exist that there's anything feminist about anti feminititiy, in fact if anything it's internalized misogyny in the worst way.
