Would you overlook the fact that a hotel is outdated as long as the staff was helpful and breakfast was outstanding?

yes, clean, comfortable bed and functioning bathroom with plenty of hot water for a shower. Renovations can be expensive and I would rather they take care of those important things first. Right now don't need wi-fi or an updated 'look'.

Depends on how the place was described prior to booking. I am willing to pay extra for a good hotel, but then (unless prevailing/unusual circumstances) I do not tolerate not getting what was paid for.

All of that stuff is a plus but it being clean is what's most important to me. 😖

Being clean and in a good location is what matters to me.
