Idk exactly how to ask but

Is there a sort of average time frame or something for people with cancer? My cousin has breast cancer. It went from one, to the other, to her spine, and now it has spread to her lungs and there is nothing that can be done. Is there a way to know if she will live long or not?

She did not wish to do chemotherapy again, when she found out it spread to her back. So, no she does not have that now any longer. And the doctor did not say an estimate, only that they can't do anything. They just give her pain medicines.

@WiltingRose with that spread of metastases, it's very hard to say. I know of one person who had a similar route (breast to breast to spine & brain, in her case), who also eschewed chemo after the first round, and she lived about 8 months after the end of that chemo. People vary enormously, and cancers are highly unpredictable, but I'd be astonished if your cousin is alive in a year, and not very surprised if she was dead in 3 months.
I worked for hospice for years. If your cousin is not already with them, she should be.
As it has already metastasized to various organs, especially the lungs, I am truly sorry to say that she has very little time left. My guess would be a month, maybe two, as it sounds as if it is a very aggressive type of breast cancer.
I have a good friend and a God-son who do Hospice care. Both of them are very loving guys and they both say that these intense times can be very valuable. So, I hope she can make the most of it. Prayer makes a lot of sense when it is a way to express loving and caring sentiments.

Prayer for wisdom for her doctors, for patience in her caregivers, and for time with those she loves is compatible with your doubts about there being a God who alters biological reality. I wish you the best.

I am so sorry. My mother-in-law had the same diagnoses she lived a little less than a year after. Again, I am very sorry to hear this.

@WiltingRose: As CereBellum said, make sure she contacts hospice if she hasn't.
If it has metastasized that much already, sadly probably not. Is she getting radiation and chemo?

I don't know but I'm sad for you and her!

it differs by the treatment

It depends on her treatment at this point. Really, her doctor would have the best guess. I'm so sorry your family's experiencing this.
