In the U.S., The "War on Drugs", which I believe started around the time Nixon was in office, was basically was a government campaign to target drugs as bad by labeling all of the potentially bad consequences they can have. Now why would they do that?

I think it was Reagan and mostly because millions of potential dollars were heading over the boarder..🤔

For some people it's because they don't like the idea of not having control over their body/letting go of their inhibitions. I know I don't.

Well i personally know that alcohol *can* turn decent people into absolute assholes which is why I don't think too highly of it. My brain just kinda associates it with bad things now (but I don't condemn people who do drink responsibly). I'm sure many others feel the same way.

Well you can still get alcohol pretty freely in the west.. Must be taxable goodies..
