How would've people survived, if we had no teeth?

At close to age 67 I can Gum Chew a prime rib steak in half .

I don't wanna risk breaking my dentures

your gums get tough and you eat like everyone else ,just vegetables need to be cooked to make them soft ,not soft soft ,just enough they don't puncture the gums ,apples and pickles and things with a skin need to be sliced but chicken ,fish even steak it not hard to eat once the gums toughen up ,now crunch crust that can puncture the gums is not something you would enjoy ,,but you do not stop eating ,crunchy peanut butter ,hard shell candy like MnMs are history
Under the Medicaid system they wont fix single teeth ,so if you have bad teeth and can't afford to pay out of pocket to end the pain ,they will pay for dentures
So the reason I know what you can eat is I have the most perfect rock stat smile teeth money can buy ,and for putting me through that I made them spend over $4.000.00 on dentures ,but they are as real looking as any teeth you have ever seen.
I have relatives who got pretty dentures in prison ,I am a Vet
My dentist agreed it was not fair for a person who chooses to be a criminal to have better health care and dental care then a Vet ,so he made sure my teeth looked as real and as white as his
But eating an apple I did snap my bottom plate in two ,
So until I got a new one ,I learned to eat without them ,
now I can eat chips ,taco's and pretty much anything I want without teeth
So its not an issue ,we adapt ,you won't starve or have to eat baby food
