I grew up as a tomboy & never sat with my legs crossed or my legs pressed together. I sat like a boy, just not as wide a stance. I'm more mindful now, but it took a while.

I think it's for comfort but it's also learned. I wore skirts to school for a large part of my life so I usually sit cross legged but I find myself also sitting like that when I'm with my brothers because they are! Strange.

@slonce: Well you shouldn't be sitting like guys. You're a girl.

Because they have a penis and testicles and I'm sure it must hurt closing/crossing their legs for a long period of time.
UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
@lilchickennugget23: Doesn't hurt, no, but it does get really uncomfortable. Can hurt if it's done for really extended periods and leads to chafing or (shockingly sharp!) hair catching on things.

Maybe it's something to do with the hip structure too. Maybe it requires excessive effort for them to keep their legs closed.
MissNiceGirl · 31-35, F
@Peekaboo: well I have wide hips

its not easy keeping them shut when you got balls..

It's not physically comfortable sitting with your legs close together. You have to exert effort in your leg muscles to keep them together. Believe me, I've tried. Spreading them out relaxes those muscles and allows males to sit without wearing their legs out

Testicles.

@UndeadPrivateer: oh

I've always wondered that too, it sucks to sit near a man when the space is little lmao
