Is circumcision a form of genital mutilation?

Of course it is. The majority of circumcisions are done on newborn baby boys who have absolutely no say in the matter. All we need to do is reverse the situation and see what people think about it.
Why would it be barbaric to do to little girls, but okay for boys?
Another big reason is for religious reasons and it's done when the boy is older. It's still done out of brainwashing and not for valid reasons.
There are absolutely no valid reasons for circumcision. Some will claim that it is healthier and more hygienic, but these are the very same people who are choosing circumcision.
Meanwhile, in the rest of the world where circumcision isn't even given as an option at the hospital, we are just shaking our heads at the absurdity that such a butchery is allowed to take place.

@NineLives: I agree, it shouldn't be done at all, not for boys and not for girls. but there are two aspects to consider too: circumcising a girl often means that don't just cut the skin but the clit too, what would be like cutting like the glans of penis! 😱
sometimes, boys have a really terrible phimosis. then, if the doctor doesn't cut some skin, how could the boys penis ever grow? and men with too small penis are really handicapped and these poor guys will maybe stay without a woman for their lifetime.
but normally, circumcision should not be necessary and therefore not be done
