Why do some people send the answers to your questions via PM instead of posting them on the thread?

I find it really strange. I could understand if the questions were risque, but something really mundane? Weird, really weird.

That is odd. I won't switch over to PM unless we agre that's where the conversation should go.

I like PMs because they can be long form messages. But that's not something you can just get after a few lines back and forth in a comment thread.
