It happened once or twice by accident. The first time, I was taking a nap in a bedroom on the second floor of a beautiful beach house we rented for the winter, and when I tried to wake up, I began to float up above my body. I couldn't control the floating, but made it up to the ceiling, and I still remember the ornate crown moldings up there in intricate detail. I found that if I used my "hands", I could move, and I wasn't a bit afraid.

Instead, I experimented and found that I could move out into the hallway, and I thought that was super cool! I remembered that the second ex had been sitting downstairs in the living room, and I wondered if I could make my way down there and scare the sh!t out of him. I thought maybe he would be able to see me!

I pulled myself down the hall to the stairs, and there was a bend in the stairs just there...and as I tried to pull myself downward I was forcibly snapped right back into my body. As I was "whooshed" back, I could sort of sense or see a silver cord connecting me to my own body on the bed.

@4meAndyou wait, was the silver cord part of your dream? Also would u like getting more of these?

@Dan193 Yes, it was part of the dream...and no, I don't want to do more of them. They are sort of like hallucinations. You are trying to wake up and you can't so your mind goes into this really elaborately detailed alternate reality. One or two of them were scary.

@4meAndyou wow scary? I personally never realize Im in a dream, however I take control of them sometimes when they are closer to the end. Many times is when I have nightmares, so I rewind time and do a different thing to avoid it, then I manage to hide and I wake up.

@Dan193 I had one sleep paralysis event where I floated up to the ceiling and pulled myself along with my hands, again, down the stairs and it was dark downstairs. I walked into the little bathroom at the bottom of the stairs and looked at myself in the mirror, and there was nothing there.

@4meAndyou I dont even wanna read that last line, it's getting night time here 😨
And I heard about mirrors. How did u get out of the sleep paralysis. I didnt know that was even a possibility.

@Dan193 Eventually it just stops happening when you get old enough. The sleep paralysis is hard to break out of. Sometimes you have to go through 3 or 4 "dreams" before you can wake up...and the dreams are usually things like, "I am awake now, and I am getting out of bed".

@4meAndyou oh I understand. Sorry for making u sad, I was just protecting myself too. I try to avoid even scary movies and stuff, to not add any of that to my imagination.
