The previous games were targeted towards children. The primary target audience of the books and movies.

Those kids have grown into adults and the fanbase has grown exponentially. Because of this a more advanced, mature game was the only option. Not only that, something the audience hasn't seen yet. Something to further expand the lore. Something most everyone likes.

I've already pre-ordered it and still giddy with anticipation.

Definitely curious to try it. From what has been released though it sounds like it is super hard to run at even 1080P native resolution. So either it will be really really heavy like crazy ray tracing and shit with heavy performance hits or it might just be very un-optimized.
