Should we really be trying to be less offensive, or less offended by things?

It seems like every year people come up with more random things to be offended by but never really getting over it or having a solid explanation to why its offensive. Or why they choose to be offended by it? Or how it affects them. They're just offended because it feels good to be offended by this new thing that everyone chooses to find offensive?

Given instant worldwide communication has kind of taken much of the "humanity" out of communication people have more or less abandoned previous moral filters. We seem less concerned about poor manners, hurting feelings, or self-censorship to avoid unintended racism, or other potentially hurtful remarks.

If we sink the bar too low, it could become a social/cultural blood bath for countries all over the world. Perhaps good manners and compassion may make a come-back, in the meantime. We can attempt kindness one person at a time. NOT being "Politically correct" is neither shooting from the hip honestly" or a virtue. It's being rude, un-kind and sends a message of hatred to the undeserving.
