I’m bored with everything getting offended and being on the defensive and pushing their lifestyles in each other’s faces.
You be you, I’ll be me and everybody shut the fuck up about it.

Both. If you know you are offending someone by saying something mean, maybe you shouldn't. It creates unnecessary tension (not only on the other person but also on you). If, however, you notice that everything and everyone offends you, perhaps the problem is in you: why do you look so down on yourself? What is the source of your stress and what makes you on defensive mode all the time? Try answering to the root of the question and you will notice that offending someone OR being offended over nothing is just plain useless. The only instance being offended helps is when you are fighting unfairness towards someone else - when you protect. Any other instance seems to create more suffering without solving the problem. We may be total opposites but when there is a problem, we must find a way to come together to solve it.

Given instant worldwide communication has kind of taken much of the "humanity" out of communication people have more or less abandoned previous moral filters. We seem less concerned about poor manners, hurting feelings, or self-censorship to avoid unintended racism, or other potentially hurtful remarks.
If we sink the bar too low, it could become a social/cultural blood bath for countries all over the world. Perhaps good manners and compassion may make a come-back, in the meantime. We can attempt kindness one person at a time. NOT being "Politically correct" is neither shooting from the hip honestly" or a virtue. It's being rude, un-kind and sends a message of hatred to the undeserving.

it’s all about triggers and what someone doesn’t like within themselves so they take it out on others. but it doesn’t hurt to just be kind and compassionate towards others as well.
