I heard about some old guy in Florida getting arrested for trying to buy someone's child at a Walmart or something.

Like he was telling them he'd give them 100 grand for her, and was being persistent about it. Also said he was on probation for doing the same thing a few years back. If it was my kid and he was bugging me like that I'd be pretty tempted to punch him in his mouth as hard as I could. I wonder if I would get in more trouble for doing that than he would for his crime
