Just to note - you can access the Recent Activity section without going to the bottom of the page, by just pressing the orange button at the right side:

It's usually dependant on your settings as well as on those you follow.

Better is the groups on the "topics" button. New users often show up in the fourteen main categories.

Stick with just the fourteen main categories. You limit yourself otherwise.

i use it more than the regular feed now that the posts are so limited with the algorithm

A decent percentage of posts here can be read in their entirety without opening them. In absence of an image to look at, most of those views a post received were those seeing what others said.

It’s more obvious on a computer cause it gets pushed to the side instead of the bottom. Is those comments in that area that will usually lead me to mute a post.
