I was looking to see if anyone mentioned Bruce Willis but for real, I hated him before I even knew who he was.
In the 80's he partnered with the Poynter Sisters to do some song called "respect yourself" and I hated it. Just sounds like a song you would hear at a scuzzy bar, plus I hate the word "respect". It just sounds like someone trying to assert dominance.
Not that anyone cares about all that.

@CestManan As somebody with experience on the subject, it sounds like you've had the prison definition of respect drilled in your head. In there, respect is synonymous with fear. To respect someone, you basically have to bow down so you don't get beat down. In the real world, respect is something else entirely.

@LordShadowfire I have never been incarcerated but yeah basically that's kind of what that word sounds like. A lot of times people that throw around that word are people that are trying to demand it instead of earn it.
@Dan193 the reason I don't care for him is because he is the embodiment of toxic masculinity in movies. He was in this movie called surrogates that I really wanted to see and I did until I actually watched it and most of the movie was just him blowing up stuff. Long story short, I had very different expectations of that movie because of something I was interested in at the time
