Does olive oil cause weight gain on the face? (Extra virgin olive oil)

I've been using extra virgin olive oil for cooking since 3 weeks (I replaced canola oil with olive oil) and since then I've been noticing slightly chubbier cheeks.
Could olive oil be the reason?

If that was the case, all of us southern Europeans would look like Thomas the tank engine by the time we were 12. I don't think it's the olive.

switch to avocado oil, it has a higher flash point so it doesn't smoke but it is flammable like olive oil. It will also help you lose weight if you are trying. Avocado is a healthy superfood.

@TexChik Didn't know that about avocado oil - since I love avocado's, I'll have to give it a try. Thanks!

@Ontheroad it’s a fat but not as bad for you as olive oil. I cook with it all the time .

I use olive oil all the time and have been for as long as I can remember.

Extra virgin olive oil for salads and certain sauces, and refined olive oil (it's a pale yellow colour) for roasts and frying. No chubby cheeks on this guy lol.

Maybe, oil does have a lot of calories. Maybe you increased your calorie intake without knowing.
Extra virgin olive oil should keep you tanned but pure

What are you cooking in olive oil?

@SweetMae Eggs, chicken, veggies

Of all the oils, olive is quite lower in calories.
I don't think it's so much the oil, but what you're making with it.

I doubt it
