I would just write on the back of it:
"Return to sender" and let the carrier return it in the out going mail.
Going to the post office here is a hassle. And that actually is what is supposed to be done.

@Lilnonames as I mentioned here it's a hassle. You have to wait in a 30 minute line at minimum. Huge hassle!

@DeWayfarer yeah supposed to be done , i had to toss mail that was covered in snow over the winter months clogging up the mail box , i got rid of it so mail could still be delivered here where i live now
