To those people who say Brittany Griner deserves to go to prison because "don't do the crime if you can't do the time"

Do you feel the same about people who are prosecuted for practicing Christianity in counties where it's illegal too? Do they deserve the harsh punishment simply because that's how it is over there?
If one is breaking the laws of another country one risks the punishment.

@onrealityofdreams yeah, I agree she shouldn't have went there. I personally wouldn't want to go somewhere ran by an evil government who enjoyed torturing people, n if I did I'd make double certain I had nothing illegal on me. Even though I kind live in a country like that, US government is pretty fucked up.
@Sweetguy024 It can be treacherous to travel to a country with the kind of reputation Russia has.

Don’t bring drugs into a foreign country. My step dad made me watch a movie about it.
Sweetguy024 · 36-40, M
@Catzgano yea, she did fuck up by going to Russia. Be like trying to sneak in a half drank beer n half an airplane shooter into Saudi Arabia and than being charged with smuggling in large amounts of alcohol. Or even having a Bible and being arrested for attempting to convert people.

Smuggling drugs = Christianity

Congratulations, you got your God-phobe cred.

@Slade lol I'm not saying they're the same. I'm just wondering why people have no sympathy for people who are in jail for doing something that shouldn't be illegal but only is because unfortunately they're in a place that is ran by evil people who enjoy torturing innocent folks.
Like people who sympathize with Nazi's since "they were only doing their job" and would call the family that hid Anne Frank "criminals"

When you go to a foreign country you must follow their laws regardless of how you feel about them..
Sweetguy024 · 36-40, M
@SoulAsylum yea, I can see that. When I went to Germany I made sure I had nothing on me just in case. But to say she deserves to spend 10 yrs just for less than a gram of oil is crazy. She wasn't snuggling drugs to sell, she accidently forgot to leave them home. But some places are crazy against drugs. I heard Singapore will arrest people n send them to prison for years just for having thc in your system. If something about you makes them think you're using they can pull you aside and test you I heard. Also heard chewing gum is illegal there so I guess they're just hella strict lol

@Sweetguy024 Billy Hayed spent 4 years in a turkish prison for trying to leave Turkey with hash. 2 weeks before he was due to be released they added 30 more years so he escaped prison and came back to america theres a movie anout it callec The Midnight Express happened on the early 70s
I do. Being a missionary, is like being apart of the Spanish inquisition/ truth ministry.
Sweetguy024 · 36-40, M
@checkoutanytime yea lol people in missionaries probably risk imprisonment n torture/execution in some places. That's what they get for not listening to the countries laws thou, or at least that's how some people feel about it.

I don't actually think she did the crime, to be honest. I think she was convicted of being American.
