Can someone please tell my dad to shut up? He says such stupid stuff

He's complaining about lack of homemade dinners lately because my mom works now. He pretty much said it's like she's too good to cook now or do anything ever since she got her little job. She bought us takeout tonight for dinner. You're eating shut up,
She’s feeding her family. What’s stopping him from opening a few cans for a change ? This is 2022 and most women work. I was born in the 60s, both my parents worked and cooked—whoever got home first started dinner. And we children saw nothing strange about that.
@Glassysky That you’re not "good or normal" I’m willing to accept. But I’d heard better things about Swedish people.

@bijouxbroussard Im not of age of maurity yet but uare
@Glassysky And most of the people who first developed the internet are my age, not yours. You need to educate yourself.

tbh he sounds so backward he should probably starve lol, like my mom is a housewife and my dad always helps her when he's at home or cooks for himself when she's doesn't feel like it
He needs to learn how to cook. My dad used to cook for us back before he got sick in 2019 and he had to give up driving and cooking. He still can make small meals but I mean come on your dad is being ridiculous. He needs to pay back to your mom after she cooked for him for years.
You can help a little too. I totally get you. Sexism is pathetic.

@PiecingBabyFaceTogether He can cook he's just lazy
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
Maybe he can try cooking

Why doesn't he get off his backside and cook then? Your mom's done her share, now he can take a turn 👍
apersonnamedit · 26-30, T
@Fluffybull that would get in the way of nascar and mash reruns
SweetMae · 70-79, F
He can always eat out!
apersonnamedit · 26-30, T
@SweetMae oh but that's expensive and he has to leave a tip which makee it even more expensive because there's 5 of us
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@apersonnamedit That would be expensive! 🙁
Neoerectus · M
He can always cook....
apersonnamedit · 26-30, T
@Neoerectus but he'd have to get out of his chair and not watch the tv he's glued to

Well, every family has at least one huge a-hole member with a big stupid mouth. He sounds like he's jealous, and needs to bring your mother down, emotionally, so she can't or won't succeed. She must have made him lose his balls because she is not staying in the kitchen, barefoot.

He is your problem, you tell him. :)
SinlessOnslaught · 26-30, M
So he likes her cooking.
BananaBrown · 41-45, F
@SinlessOnslaught I wasn’t there, but a lot can be inferred from how something is said. It’s pretty clear from what the poster stated that their dad wasn’t being kind.
apersonnamedit · 26-30, T
@SinlessOnslaught not the exact phrasing but thats how he came across
SinlessOnslaught · 26-30, M
@apersonnamedit 💁‍♂️

Tell him that if he misses homemade dinners so much, there are numerous websites with recipes easy enough for even him to follow.
Speaking of thanks for the reminder.

She provided food. Her job is done. Just saying.

@Glassysky Your profile says Sweden. Does this mean that you are Swedish? I ask because my experience of Scandinavia suggests that most Scandinavians are much more tolerant and laid back than you seem to be.
