That's disappointing. My steaks went bad and I just bought them yesterday. $61 and change down the drain.

They look fine and they just spent a night in the refrigerator. They smell sour which is disappointing as I was looking forward to grilling for everyone. At least we still have chicken skewers.

I'll most likely return them to the store and I hate having to do that. I don't want to be seen as that customer.

Thats really odd. I mean, were you able to see them before they were wrapped up? Maybe they switched cuts on you. Usually you can discern the freshness of the beef by the color of them and bad beef definitely has an unpleasant hue to it.

Be that customer if they actually smell, imo.

I buy the discounted off color or slightly out of date stuff often if I can cook it right away, but steaks that actually smell are a whole different thing.

if the meat has gone off within a day was it prepacked and was it damaged , do not feel guilty about taking it back the customer is always right you paid good money [deepblacknothingness]

Bring back the package and receipt. Get a replacement package or refund. It it's an Aldi, you get both. Solid cuts of beef should certainly last a few days, minimum. Heck, I just had ground beef that lasted three days before I pattied and froze it.
